LEAVENWORTH, WA – July 15, 2025 – The City of Leavenworth is pleased to announce the selection of ARC Architects (ARC) as the lead consultant for the upcoming Downtown Parking Garage Feasibility and Design project. This significant step marks a pivotal moment in the City’s ongoing efforts to enhance visitor experience, support local businesses, and address the growing demand for parking in its vibrant downtown core.

Following a comprehensive Request for Qualifications (RFQ) process, ARC and its experienced team of subconsultants were chosen from a pool of highly qualified firms. Subconsultant PCS Structural Solutions has completed the design of over fifty stand-alone and integrated parking structures across the Northwest. The selection involved a thorough evaluation by members of the Parking Advisory Committee (PAC) and City staff, focusing on expertise, experience with similar projects, and a deep understanding of community-centric design. ARC’s proven track record and innovative approach stood out, demonstrating their capacity to deliver a solution that aligns with Leavenworth’s unique character and future needs.

“We are incredibly excited to partner with ARC and their team on this crucial project,” said Matthew Selby, City Administrator. “Their expertise will be invaluable as we explore sustainable and effective parking solutions that will not only alleviate congestion but also enhance the overall experience for our community.”

The Downtown Parking Garage Feasibility and Design project aims to develop a strategic plan for a new parking facility, considering factors such as location, design aesthetics, environmental impact, and economic viability. This initiative is a key component of Leavenworth’s long-term vision for downtown revitalization and improved infrastructure.

“ARC Architects is thrilled to begin working with the City of Leavenworth and its vibrant community on this essential parking initiative,” said Jeff Wandasiewicz, ARC Architects’ Principal and Project Manager. “Our team brings extensive experience in designing solutions that respect and enhance unique architectural themes, and we are particularly excited to apply our understanding of Bavarian design to a project that directly addresses the specific parking challenges of a small city with significant tourist visitation. We’re eager to get to work and deliver a solution that serves everyone.”

Next steps will involve ARC working closely with the City and project stakeholders to obtain site survey data, conduct a detailed feasibility study, and develop preliminary designs. The City of Leavenworth looks forward to a collaborative process that will result in a parking solution benefiting everyone.
