Leavenworth Civics Academy
The City of Leavenworth is no longer accepting applications for the inaugural Leavenworth Civics Academy.
This program will offer a comprehensive look at how our city government operates—from decision-making and budgeting to department functions and collaboration with other agencies. This Civics Academy is designed to empower residents to engage more fully in local government and gain a deeper understanding of how our small city runs.
What to Expect:
• Meet and learn directly from City leaders
• Understand how decisions are made and services are delivered
• Learn how the City partners with agencies, districts, and organizations
• Interactive discussions, Q&A, and hands-on activities
• Led by City staff, partner agencies, and elected officials
2026 Program Dates:
The Leavenworth Civics Academy will take place on the 2nd and 4th Monday evenings from 5:30 to 7:30 PM during February, March, and April 2026, with three optional (and fun!) events planned for May 2026.

Spots are limited, and not all applicants will be selected to participate. Admission is on a first-come, first-accepted basis, with a select number of participants from each of the following areas:
- Within Leavenworth City Limits
- Urban Growth Area (UGA)
- Cascade School District Boundary
Applicants must live in one of these three areas to be eligible. Participation in the program to anyone 16 or older who meets the residence eligibility requirements.
The application deadline is January 4, 2026. Due to limited space, not all applicants can be selected. The City of Leavenworth will notify all applicants of their admission status by January 8, 2026 (at least one month before the program begins).
