The City of Leavenworth is pleased to announce an expansion of sidewalk snow removal services to assist city residents this winter.
What’s new?
Per Resolution 23-2025, the City will remove snow on all residential sidewalks. This includes sidewalks in residential zones that were not previously maintained by City staff. The City Council adopted this new policy, expanding winter services to ensure safe and accessible sidewalks for residents during winter weather.

When Will it Happen? Snow maintenance operations begin when accumulations reach three (3) inches or more. Clearing of residential sidewalks (Phase 2) will begin after priority areas (like Safe Routes to School) are complete and as staffing allows.

A Reminder for Property Owners:
Commercial Zones. Adjacent property owners in commercial zones must still clear snow from sidewalks directly abutting their property within 24 hours after the end of a snow event.
Driveway Berms. Property owners and residents are responsible for removing snow berms created at private driveway entrances during City plowing operations.
