The Recycling Center will be CLOSED Saturday, December 13. We will be accepting chips and yard waste from city residents and contractors at the cemetery this Saturday (12/13) and Sunday (12/14) from 9 AM to 2 PM. Look for the barricaded area at the end of Cemetery Rd (i.e., all the way back).

What’s Accepted?

  • Yard Waste – including needles & cones, grass clippings, garden residues, leaves & branches.
  • Land Clearing Waste – all tree species except redwood, bamboo, and cedar, root balls (free of rocks & dirt), tree trunks, and branches. 24-inch limit on diameter and lengths less than 4 ft.
  • Untreated Wood Waste – free of nails, staples, and paint. NO cedar, redwood, or bamboo.
[For residents outside of the apple maggot quarantine area, you can take your yard waste to the Dryden Transfer Station. For residents inside the quarantine area, you can also take yard waste to Winton Mfg.]

The Leavenworth Recycling Center will be open from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM for the following Saturdays (Dec 20 and 27; Jan 3) to reduce potential vehicular congestion along 14th Street due to the additional traffic revisions for the Chamber’s upcoming Village of Lights: Christmastown festivities.

In partnership with Waste Loop, the Recycling Center will continue to operate its winter hours on Wednesdays (3:30 PM – 5:30 PM).
