The Leavenworth City Council invites the community to a presentation regarding the Front Street Pedestrian Plaza project during the upcoming City Council meeting on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 7:00 PM.

Since September 2024, the City has been working with design firm Psomas to develop a comprehensive “10% Design Report.” This report serves as the foundational blueprint for the final design and reconstruction of Front Street into a pedestrian-friendly plaza.

Project Highlights:

  • Primary Scope: Improvements to the Front Street right-of-way, Front Street Park, and building entries between US 2 and Division Street.
  • Extended Analysis: The study includes 8th and 10th Streets (to Commercial St) and a broader look at downtown parking and traffic flow, consistent with the Downtown Master Plan.
  • Presentation: Holly Williams and the Psomas team will share progress to date, project status, and the roadmap for next steps.

How to Participate:

  • In-Person: City Hall Council Chambers (700 US Hwy 2).
  • Virtually: Join via Zoom through the City Calendar Link.
  • Review Materials: The full presentation is available in the City Council Packet.
