The City of Leavenworth will be improving the asphalt pavement and sections of concrete roadway along Front Street from US Hwy 2 (Gustav’s) to 10th Street (Icicle Brewery).
Project work primarily includes, and is not necessarily limited to, replacing the concrete ‘dance floor’ in front of the gazebo, crosswalk and sidewalk repairs, fixing the ‘wavy’ bricks, and seal coating Front Street. The project aims to repair potential trip hazards and the overall condition of the existing roadway.
This project is currently out to bid, with construction anticipated to occur between Monday, May 18, and Friday, May 29. To minimize the impact of this project, the contractor will be required to perform work with major road closures midweek between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
Temporary and intermittent road closures along Front Street and associated intersections will occur during construction. When traffic control measures are in place, no vehicular access will be permitted.
