PROJECT UPDATES:

April 27, 2026 — Construction on Dragontail, Blewett, and Parking Office lots are complete!  Finishing touches on the Enchantments and Freund lots will take place this week (4/29 – 4/30).  Keep an eye on the schedule for updated lot closure dates.

April 5, 2026 — Construction is in full swing, but a stretch of cold nights, wet weather, and asphalt plant delays has shifted our timelines. We are working hard to get these lots back in top shape, and we appreciate your flexibility!

Note: We will continue to coordinate with our contractor and provide updates on timelines as we receive them.

Visiting City Hall or the Library? While the Enchantments lot is closed, please use the Dragontail lot next door (it remains free while Enchantments is undergoing repairs).

The Freund, Enchantments, Dragontail, Blewett, and Parking Office parking lots are getting a facelift. Each lot will undergo various levels of construction to improve their grading, paving, and curbing conditions with the goal of making them safer and more usable for all.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Will the construction close down these lots?
Parking lots undergoing construction will be closed to the public. However, efforts will be made to stagger work whenever possible to help minimize the impact on overall parking availability.

Will the Freund lot be closed when the pool opens this spring?
Construction on all lots is expected to be completed by mid-April, well before the open season of the Howard Hopkins Memorial Pool.

What about library parking?
During the closure and construction of the Enchantments lot, parking at the adjacent Dragontail lot will be available for library patrons.

Why Blewett lot? Aren't we putting a parking garage there?
There may one day be a parking garage at the existing Blewett lot, but current conditions warrant repair to provide a safe and accessible parking resource.
