If your home was damaged during the recent storm event, the City of Leavenworth is here to help you understand what steps you need to take to ensure safety and compliance.
1. Schedule a Site Visit
Contact our Building Division staff to arrange an inspection of your property. This helps determine the extent of damage and what actions are required.*
- Phone: (509) 548-5275
- Email: building@col.dev.3sherpas.com
- City Hall: 700 US Hwy 2, Leavenworth (M-F, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.)
2. Are You Still Living in the Home?
If anyone will remain in the structure while it is damaged:
- An inspection must be completed to verify that the home is safe to occupy. An engineering assessment may be needed.
- In severe cases, the City may issue a “DO NOT OCCUPY” notice if life-safety hazards are present.
3. Find Out Whether a Permit Is Required
City staff can advise you on whether your repair work requires a permit. This varies depending on the type and extent of damage.
4. Structural Damage Requirements
If the structure itself has been compromised, you will likely need:
- A licensed engineer’s assessment with repair recommendations
- A building permit for the work
5. Submit Permit Online
All permit applications can be submitted through the City’s online permit portal at: https://lvnworth_wa.permittrax.com/Citizen/.
If you need assistance completing your application, staff are available to help. We also have an online “How-To” Guide to walk you through the process.
